Key Events between 18-24 September

Taking place between 18-24 September in New York City, Climate Week NYC will be a key international summit to drive climate action forward around the world, in the lead-up to the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference organized in November in Bonn, Germany.

Climate Week is a collaborative space for all kinds of events on climate change, in support of the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

This year, the summit will take place alongside the UN General Assembly and will bring together international leaders from business, government and civil society to highlight the unstoppable momentum of global climate action. It is also a platform for climate action annoucments.

For example, already a few days before the launch of Climate Week NYC 2017, The Climate Group announced that four major companies have joined the RE100 campaign and committed to sourcing 100% renewable energy across their global operations.

As part of Climate Week, senior UNFCCC staff, including Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa and Spokesperson Nick Nuttall, will be on the ground and take part in key events relating to international, national, regional, city, business, investor and educational climate action. Here an overview:
