On the occasion of the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Unesco Regional Office of Science of UNESCO for Latin America and the Caribbean together with Uruguayan National Commission for Unesco it was organized a round table: “Ethics and Change Climate “. The event was held at the Mercosur building in Montevideo. The speakers invited were Mr. Jorge Rucks, Deputy Minister for Planning and Environment of Uruguay, Ms. Lidia Brito, Director of the Regional Bureau of Unesco, Dr. Eduardo Gudynas, CLAES, Uruguay, Dr. Pablo Canziani, CONICET Argentina and Dr. Roque Junges, Unísimos, Brazil.
This celebration is an invitation to reflect on the fundamental contribution that UNESCO has provided since its inception to the construction of social, cultural and innovative scientific paradigms in Latin America; recognizing that today, even after seventy years, there are still key issues that require urgent renovation and solutions.
