October 18-20, 2017 in Mexico City
The landmark Paris Agreement on climate change achieved in 2015 embodies the commitment of the countries of the world to advance action on climate change.
Since the adoption of the agreement, governments, business, civil society, institutions and other actors are focusing on translating the targets set in climate action plans.
Why FLACC 2017 is an event that needs to be addressed
For the 11th consecutive year, the Latin American and Caribbean Carbon Forum (FLACC) will bring together key players from the public and private sectors to pool the latest developments in climate change mitigation and establish contacts with cooperation agencies, potential investors and suppliers of services. It is a space to transform aspirations into concrete climate actions.
During the FLACC there will be numerous meetings, including high-level plenary meetings, which will discuss the latest developments and resources available in the following areas:
- climate finance;
- carbon emission pricing;
- sectoral climate action;
- data and information to promote transparency.
The Forum will also serve to identify the opportunities presented by the transition towards a low carbon economy for the following sectors:
- industry;
- sustainable cities;
- technology;
- Energy;
- land, air and maritime transport … and much more.
What to expect from FLACC
The Forum offers the possibility of making contacts with experts and knowing firsthand their experiences, in order to turn plans and ideas into concrete actions. The FLACC has a comprehensive and extensive program with plenary meetings, parallel thematic dialogues, workshops and training sessions.
The Forum will also have an exhibition space to identify business opportunities and connect with organizations that can support climate action, cooperation agencies, potential investors and service providers.
For the second consecutive year, FLACC will coincide with the annual Workshop on Low Emission Development Strategies of the Latin America and Caribbean Platform, giving rise to the largest climate event in the region: the Latin American and Caribbean Climate Week 2017.
